The position of Digital Marketing Executive is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in playing a significant role within Clare Tourism and we are inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for this competition. It is proposed to form a panel of qualified candidates to fill the vacancy of Digital Marketing Executive on a full-time permanent contract.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Manager in defining the digital marketing strategy and vision for all attractions ensuring that the attractions brand values are delivered through all digital touchpoints.
  • Ensure the digital marketing strategy connects online and offline marketing activities.
  • Work on the digital transformational plan for all west and northwest Clare attractions and work on connected and integrated distribution for ticketing.
  • Track, analyse and report on web analytics (e.g traffic, revenue, conversion rates, cost per acquisition) making necessary adjustments to optimise campaigns in real time based on learnings.
  • Building campaigns across social and web channels which will include paid advertisement using social ads.
  • Optimisation of conversion rates across each of the online sites.
  • Lead digital KPI tracker including PPC, social & display performance.
  • Identify, track and report on SEO performance.
  • Create a social media schedule, including post copy, messaging, connectors, audience details, hashtag usage, content requirements, and advertising specifications.
  • Gathering content onsite at the various attractions.
  • Engage with videographers and photographers and create thorough briefs.
  • Build out an editorial calendar that will attract a relevant audience to the attractions, building advocacy for these attractions through compelling storytelling.
  • Source and work with social media influencers.
  • Liaise with external organisations and internal departments to gather new content to be added online and ensure that all content added is presented in an interesting and appealing manner.
  • Moderate and audit existing website content to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date and source and edit images and videos to represent online content.
  • Monitor and report on competitor digital activity and best practice.
  • Liaise with online partners including digital marketing agencies and online travel agents.
  • Drive increased traffic through content marketing, SEO, referral traffic and building site authority through link building.
  • Create content and outreach strategies to increase online PR and peer to peer advocacy on high authority websites.
  • Deliver on ambitious growth targets for CRM database driving acquisition, open rates and click through rates through compelling, timely & relevant content.
  • Understand behavioural trends and new content formats & social media platforms to drive brand awareness & consideration.
  • Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, trade suppliers, and partner organisations.
  • Assisting in delivering on the terms of the wider promotional remit of Clare Tourism West and Northwest portfolio of visitor experiences including liaising with local stakeholders attending events and shows promoting County Clare, copy in promotional materials, online promotion of County Clare on all social media platforms.
  • Sourcing digital advertising opportunities and placing adverts – local, regional, national, international, and specialist publications.
  • Help provide input into strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, financial management & operational management as requested by the marketing function.
  • Participate in outreach activities to support Clare County Council associated tourist attractions and services as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by management.

Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role and ideally in a tourism or brand business.
  • Fully proficient Google Analytics & other online analytic tools.
  • Comfortable with data analytics and analysing conversion rates.
  • Experience in marketing, digital marketing and copy writing.
  • Experienced in video and graphics creation tools.
  • Experienced in running paid campaigns on social media platforms.
  • Experience with websites that have attracted multiple audience/demographics.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker.
  • A thorough knowledge of Digital Marketing industry.
  • Have demonstrated creative and strategic thinking ability.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivational skills and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • PC literate with good keyboard skills, Microsoft Office proficient & familiar with mobile devices.
  • Experience in the tourism sector, hospitality and visitor attraction industry desirable.

Additional Information

  • Reporting to Sales and Marketing Manager Clare Tourism West and Northwest.
  • The post will be operational on seven days a week basis according to the business requirements. Hours of operation may vary seasonally.
  • Applicants should have a full, clean driving licence with access to own car and may have to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
  • The duties will be performed onsite in the Ennistymon Cliffs of Moher Offices, or any other place of business as designated by management, during operating hours of the visitor experience.
  • Occasional work off site may be required.
