From circus acts to Easter characters, train rides to living history reenactments and so much more, there is something for all ages to enjoy on a visit to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park this Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
New for 2025:
Get crafty for our Easter Bonnet Competition! We’re inviting all young designers (ages 12 and under) to create the most egg-stravagant, colourful and creative Easter bonnets.
Use your imagination and be as original as possible with recycled or upcycled materials, add a splash of colour and make your bonnets as fun as possible. There are fantastic age-appropriate prizes up for grabs and our lucky winners will have their moment in the spotlight with our Easter characters for a special photo.
Keep an eye out for the fabulous Lady Long Bottom and Madame Bloomers who will be on the lookout for the most beautiful children’s bonnet or hat. Gather in the Village Street at 2.30pm for the judging ceremony, followed by the daily Easter Parade.

The Wobbly Circus:
For an unforgettable, fun-filled afternoon, don’t miss the Wobbly Circus performances taking place daily just outside the tea room.
This high-energy, interactive show is perfect for all ages, bringing together an exciting mix of slapstick comedy, clowning, and incredible circus skills that will leave you amazed and entertained.
Watch in awe as our talented performer dazzles with daring fire-juggling, masterful unicycle tricks, and an impressive display of circus stunts—all delivered with a lively dose of humor and audience participation.
Welcome entertainer extraordinaire, Garry Rossiter
We are delighted to welcome entertainer extraordinaire, Garry Rossiter, to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park this Easter for a jaw dropping performance that promises thrills, laughter, and plenty of audience participation.
A master of his craft, Garry brings his signature blend of comedy, daring stunts, and circus skills in his thrilling show “Juggling Danger”. Prepare to be amazed as he juggles knives with precision, walks tall on towering stilts and watch in awe at his fire breathing skills.
Say Hello to the Easter Bunny & Chick
What Easter celebration is complete without a visit from the Easter Bunny? The Bunratty Easter Bunny is busy fluffing his tail and practising his bunny hop ahead of the arrival of all the boys and girls to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park this Easter Midterm.
Say hello to this fluffy, friendly fellow and his adorable friend, the Chick as they make their way around Bunratty Castle and Folk Park with little surprises for all who come their way.
Blacksmith Demonstrations:
As part of our Easter schedule of activities, we are delighted to welcome the old Irish tradition of ironworking to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
Visitors to the park will get to see first-hand how these farm tools are made, hear about the history of the blacksmiths profession in Ireland and how skills were nurtured and lovingly passed on from generation to generation.
Explore Living History:
This Easter step back in time with “Clan Life & Tercio Irlanda” and immerse yourself in the rich history of Gaelic Ireland. Explore living history displays that bring to life the tumultuous periods of the Desmond Rebellions, the Spanish Armada, the Nine Years’ War, The Battle of Kinsale, the epic March of O’Sullivan Beare and the dramatic Flight of the Earls.
Experience firsthand the stories of resistance, power struggles, and cultural shifts that shaped this pivotal era in Irish history. Explore the strong bonds between Ireland and Spain which last to this day but were forged true in the fierce fires of battle in 16th century Ireland. Whether you’re discovering ancient Gaelic traditions, witnessing the clash of swords, or hearing tales of exile, this living history display and educational talks offer a fascinating journey into Ireland’s vibrant past.

Easter Clue Trail:
For younger visitors we have a fun and interactive Clue Trail to follow that will bring you and your family to all corners of the park, meeting lots of colourful characters along the way. Learn all about Ireland in the olden days, meet some of some adorable animals and explore our many woodland trails.
Simply pick up your clue trail at admissions on arrival and return to admissions prior to departure to be in with a chance of winning a Family Annual Membership Pass to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park!

Meet our resident musicians and join in on a seisiun or two, guaranteed to have your feet tapping and your hands clapping. Back by popular demand, join Mickey Joe the Seanchaí in the Corrys Pub, as he entertain and enthrals visitors with tales, traditions and entertaining anecdotes.
Traditional Baking & Butter Making
Join the Bean an Tí’s in the Golden Vale Farmhouse at 2pm as they showcase the art and traditions behind Irish Baking. Learn why we put a cross on the top of Irish Soda Bread or the secret to making the perfect mouthwatering, creamy Irish butter.
